Great learning and networking opportunities at BUFT

Learning in sync with the times

Due to its close connection with the country’s garment industry sector, many graduates of BUFT have already started working for various renowned brands and organizations. According to the university authorities, their alumni are working in various organizations including Walmart, Marks & Spencer, H&M, Lee & Fung, Zara.

Afsana Ferdousi is one of the BUFT graduates who are contributing to the domestic apparel sector. She has developed a unique identity as a fashion designer. When contacted on mobile phone, Afsana said, “My dream of becoming a fashion designer started while browsing through books in the campus library. I had to learn various subjects including sketching, pattern, draping and swing, product development, etc. firsthand. One good thing about BUFT is that not only creativity is practiced here, but also technical aspects are taught. As there are good relations with various garment companies in the country as well as international organizations, the students here have more networking and work opportunities.”
